dmi.io is building an online B2B marketplace for buying & selling data. Our platform will not only allow buyers and sellers to easily find one another, but also offer market-based data pricing, so sellers can learn the true value of their data products while buyers gain confidence that prices are fair. Our product's minimum feature set is based upon months of market research with existing data buyers & sellers. For example, one early test seller receives images of every real estate title filed with county clerks, which they convert to machine-readable with >99.5% accuracy, index, and sell to title insurance companies. Another scrapes business tax liens and sells them to debt resolution companies (carefully screening them for ethical business practices), and we have three other test sellers. We also spoke with buyers ranging from consulting firms who buy data to improve their services to software development companies who buy data to test and/or power analytics engines.
