Those who choose to donate $1 get access to deals from the sponsor of the month; while the sponsors make it possible for all the donations to go straight to the charity. Altruist is creating a win / win / win situation: The charity gets exposure, donations and inspires other charities to meet the Altruist standards in hopes of being selected in the future.
