Distributing essential technologies in Africa

About

LiTeAfrica believes that everyone should have access to essential, life-improving technologies. Every day, we distribute technologies such as solar lamps and clean cookstoves to Ugandan shops and markets. 8 out of 10 people in Uganda do not have access to electricity and an estimated 20,000 people die each year from indoor air pollution. Technologies that tackle these challenges exist, but are not reaching those who need them - low-income, rural households. LiTeAfrica has a solution. We sell via local retailers, offer financing options, and ensure after-sales service. We exist to fill the distribution gap between manufacturers and consumers. We began our pilot in May 2014 and have sold 66 products in just 10 days. We have formed partnerships with 9 retail shops and directly sell in markets. LiTeAfrica currently sells clean cookstoves and solar lamps but will expand to include a variety of essential technologies. We have the potential to scale to various locations in sub-Sahara Africa.
